Direct answer
What is an under-sink water filter?
It is a point-of-use system installed inside the kitchen cabinet to filter water supplied to a selected
drinking-water outlet. Unlike a whole-house system, it focuses on one kitchen location rather than every tap.
Cartridge selection and performance
A filter should be chosen for a defined purpose. River City does not describe every cartridge as removing
every contaminant. Product labels, certification records and manufacturer instructions should identify the
intended reduction claims, rated capacity and replacement conditions.
If water safety is in doubt, arrange appropriate testing and contact the relevant water authority or a
qualified professional. A sales quote is not a water-safety assessment.
Installation and future access
Regulated plumbing work must be carried out by an appropriately licensed person. The system should remain
accessible after installation so cartridges can be changed without removing permanent cabinet components.
The handover should record the installed cartridge set and recommended replacement basis.
